David Neil Jones

CD Recordings & Reviews

'He is a romantic at heart, deeply happy with French music, yet who can summon tempestuous attack and dynamism as his programme was deftly to underline.'

'I was captivated by the tenderness and even passion which he has discovered in this very complex music. This is certainly a CD to buy, for the recording is excellent and the musci projected with really infectious panache by a first-rate pianist.'

'Combining  joyful 'old school' freedom of expression with elements of the contemporary movement for authenticity, David Neil Jones’ performances are strongly crafted, virtuoso, yet pervaded with colour and above all, a singing tone.'

Teaching

I teach at Wymondham College, Norfolk, at the University of East Anglia and Privately.

I teach at all levels from beginners through to advanced, children to adults. My youngest is 8 and my oldest is 80!

I find it a wonderful challenge to prepare students for performance; and with children, to help them with confidence and life skills.

I think I have a gift for motivating, especially with people who are gifted or with technical problems. I believe that I am on the right lines with my teaching since those who I have taught from the beginning seem to get very high marks in their grade exams.

Even though I am primarily interested in performance, and despite it sometimes being very hard work, I get lots of rewards form my teaching.
