David Neil Jones: Welcome to my new website.

I lead a very varied musical life with a mixture of recitals and concertos, accompaniment (mainly with singers) and some teaching.

I feel that each area feeds the other which give me great joy, making me a better musician and certainly a better person.

My primary aim is to allow people who have met me to stay in contact. It is also of course a window into my life and work. I hope you like it. It is in the form of a collage.

Recordings

Availiable on CD:

Piano Variations:

'Here is a remarkable CD of great quality in virtually every department. David Neil Jones is a musician who obviously relished both finding, learning and now communicating his enthusiasm for these rarely heard sets of variations.'

Piano Interpretations:

'I was captivated by the tenderness and even passion which he has discovered in this very complex music. This is certainly a CD to buy, for the recording is excellent and the music projected with really infectious panache by a first-rate pianist.'

(Review of Piano Variations CD in 'Musical Opinion') Recorded in 2000 this CD features popular classical pieces .

Teaching

I teach at Wymondham College, Norfolk, at the University of East Anglia and Privately.

I teach at all levels from beginners through to advanced, children to adults. My youngest is 8 and my oldest is 80!

I find it a wonderful challenge to prepare students for performance; and with children, to help them with confidence and life skills.

I think I have a gift for motivating, especially with people who are gifted or with technical problems. I believe that I am on the right lines with my teaching since those who I have taught from the beginning seem to get very high marks in their grade exams.

Even though I am primarily interested in performance, and despite it sometimes being very hard work, I get lots of rewards form my teaching.
